Kagin Simmons
Kagin Simmons was born in Pittsburgh, PA where she attended the Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) High School and majored in Visual Arts. Upon graduation, she attended Hampton University, where she studied Marketing for one year, and soon enlisted in the United States Army as a Combat Medic (68W) at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. It was during this time in the military, that not only did her passion for the healthcare industry develop, but she met the love of her life at her first duty station. In September 2009, Kagin and her husband wed prior to deploying together to Afghanistan.
After retiring from the military, Kagin worked in various positions with the Department of Defense and with Non-Profit Organizations to provide Patient Advocacy efforts to youth and seniors in urban communities throughout North and South Carolina.
With an MBA in Healthcare Management from Colorado Technical University, Kagin is currently pursuing her Nursing degree to bridge the gap of veteran care in the Palmetto State and homelessness.
During her free time, she enjoys traveling to new places with her husband and children, crafting, and catching up on the latest episodes of thriller television series.
