Shayna Kessler
Shayna is a Senior Planner at the Vera Institute of Justice, where she joined the Center on Immigration and Justice in May of 2017. Before joining Vera, she was the associate director of the Workers’ Rights Clinic at the James E. Rogers College of Law of the University of Arizona, where she advocated for the protection of the rights of low-wage immigrant workers. Prior to working at the University of Arizona, Shayna was a public defender at the Bronx Defenders. Shayna has also worked as the prison visiting project associate with the Correctional Association of New York and as the community outreach coordinator with the Bronx Defenders. Shayna received her JD from Brooklyn Law School and her BA in Spanish and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
