I-ARC's Spring Conference 2024 and 'Night of Justice' Benefit Event

Join us for Immigrant-ARC’s Spring Conference 2024 for a chance to connect one-on-one with colleagues, immigration attorneys, paralegals, law professors, and law students at the Brooklyn Law School this May. The conference is an all day event with opportunities to learn, engage and hear from thought-provoking speakers and panels. This will be followed up by ‘A Night of Justice’ benefit. During this special occasion, we will recognize and honor the exceptional legal advocates who play a pivotal role in championing Immigrant Justice in New York State. Let's mark our achievements and prepare for the opportunities that lie ahead in the coming year.

CONFERENCE DETAILS

An application for New York State Accreditation for Continued Legal Education is currently pending for many of the courses we will be offering. We will have two tracks:

Track one will be Legal Challenges & Developments of Today. This track will have 4.5 CLE credit hours. 

Some highlighted courses are:

  • Pro Se Plus—Models, Ethics, and What's Next

  • Labor Exploitation and Trafficking: Narratives and Legal Strategies

  • AI in Immigration Law: Practical and Ethical Considerations

  • Supreme Court State-of-Play

  • Using Expert Testimony in Immigration Cases

Track two is Cultivating & Deepening the NY Legal Immigration Field. This track will have 2.5 CLE credit hours, as well as having courses that are not applicable for CLE. 

Some highlighted courses are:

  • Cultivating Future Nonprofit Immigration Attorneys, University Partnerships & Pipelines

  • Creating a Staff-Focused Work Culture to Prevent Burn-Out, Encourage Professional Growth, and Promote Retention

  • Holistic Advocacy—Incorporating Social Work and Case Management into Nonprofit Immigration Legal Practice

  • Drafting Effective Legal Affidavits

In the weeks before the conference, you will be sent a small questionnaire asking which courses you are interested in attending. Attendees may express interest in courses in either/both tracks—attendees are not limited to one track or the other

Following our full day conference, we will be hosting ‘A Night of Justice’ benefit at Brooklyn Law School Forchelli Center. During this special occasion, we will recognize and honor the exceptional legal advocates who play a pivotal role in championing Immigrant Justice in New York State. Let's mark our achievements and prepare for the opportunities that lie ahead in the coming year. Drinks & hors d'oeuvres will be served as you enjoy the amazing views of the skyline in Downtown Brooklyn.
