OpEd: Refugees’ lives matter, too

On this World Refugee Day, the U.S. remains consumed by mass protests against our country’s failure to ensure racial justice for all citizens. During this important time, it is also crucial we examine our country’s deteriorating record of ill-treatment toward black and brown immigrants. If President Trump will be remembered for fanning the flames of racial enmity in the U.S., his administration’s legacy will inevitably include embedding racism deeper into government institutions so that it endures far beyond his time in office.
