Expansion of Expedited Removal Begins

Last week, Bloomberg News reported that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) employees have until October 16th to complete training and start rolling out expanded rules for expedited removal.

What does this mean? Simply put, once they complete training, ICE agents will have the authority to arrest and deport anyone who can't prove they've been in the country for at least two years. Watch our Executive Director and Irene Sanchez, Legal Advocate with the Volunteers Legal Services Project of Monroe County explain this news in English and Spanish:

Immigrant ARC Executive Director Camille Mackler and Irene Sanchez, Legal Advocate at the Volunteer Legal Services Project of Monroe County on the news that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents are being trained to expand expedited removal throughout the country.
