Rebranding Immigrant ARC: A New Chapter

“We shall overcome because the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.”

- Martin Luther King, Jr.

The logo was designed around the theme of "the arc", which represents both connection and protection. The interlocking arcs represent the various aspects of our collaborative, including the connection between each other, the connection to the communities we serve and the broader New York community in which we live and work. It also reflects the protection we are fighting to provide to our communities and to each other. The colors have remained the same - they are variations on New York's colors (blue and orange) but also represent the diverse and multi-cultured version of New York we are fighting for.

When Martin Luther King, Jr. proclaimed these words on March 31st, 1968 during a speech entitled “Remaining Awake Through a Great Revolution”, he had one goal- to inspire hope that humanity’s goodness would lead to a better future.

Immigrant ARC strongly believes in this sentiment and has rebranded itself to more accurately depict its primary mission. Our logo, which shows arcs reaching forward, represents our desire to be the arc between an immigrant’s previous life and their new life. It represents our ability to help them reach their goals- educationally, financially, and as a community.

We aim to represent this belief in a better future through our connection to a broader continuum of care that affords immigrants housing and food stability, mental health care, and other resources that go beyond legal needs.

We recognize that we are one part of the larger moral arc, which is why we dedicate ourselves to working as a community in order to produce our best work. We are confident that our vision and our passion to keep families together and to help immigrants remain in or find their new homes will result in the ultimate fulfillment of the great ideal of justice.
