Leanne Shear
Leanne is an entrepreneur whose company Uplift - a progressive fitness studio, female society and female empowerment consultancy - empowered women in all aspects of their lives. She closed Uplift's doors in 2019 to move on to coaching and consulting with women - in particular entrepreneurs, founders, and other businesswomen - on a larger scale.
Before conceiving the idea for Uplift, Leanne was a professional writer. She is the author of The Perfect Manhattan and Cocktail Therapy: The Perfect Prescription for Life’s Many Crises, and her writing has also been featured in The Nation, The New York Times, and New York magazine, among others.
Leanne graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania and received a Master’s degree in Women’s Studies and Cultural Politics from New York University.
In addition to working with Immigrant ARC, Leanne is currently engaged in business coaching with a number of individuals, as well as consulting with various companies and nonprofits such as CITYROW, Boutique Fitness Solutions, Lucinda Literary, Fox Holt, US United, and Talent Hack across a variety of functions.
