Advocates call on Cuomo and state lawmakers to fund legal services for immigrants

Albany -- Immigration advocates are up in arms over the possibility that Gov. Cuomo and state lawmakers may cut funds for a program that provides legal services to immigrants and those facing deportation.

The New York Immigration Coalition on Thursday called for the restoration of $10 million in funding for the Liberty Defense Project, which provides legal counsel and other support services.
