Commentary: Immigrant representation bill affirms New York's values

New York's story is inextricably linked to the waves of immigrants that have come to its shores, sailing or flying past the Statue of Liberty as they approached the United States. This month, New York took a step toward reaffirming its commitment to our immigrant communities with the introduction of a bill to guarantee immigrants facing deportation legal representation: the Access to Representation Act.
