Venezuela Designated for TPS

On March 8, 2021 the Department of Homeland Security designated Venezuela for Temporary Protected Status (TPS). This means that Venezuelan nationals who were present in the United States on March 8, 2021 can apply for a temporary protection from deportation and work authorization that will last for 18 months. Eligible individuals must apply by September 5, 2021 or they will lose the chance to obtain TPS now and if/when the designation gets renewed.

For more information please see the fact sheets created by the Legal Aid Society in English and Spanish.
