Natalia Nunez Barragan
Born and raised in Venezuela, Natalia moved to the United States in 2017, seeking asylum due to political persecution. This life-changing experience inspired her to dedicate her career to helping others navigate the immigration process and find stability in the U.S.
With a background in journalism from the Catholic University in Caracas and a passion for photography, Natalia brings a creative and empathetic approach to her work. Since 2023, she has worked as an Assistant Supervisor at the NYC Asylum Application Help Center, where she oversaw daily operations and coordinated the efforts of attorneys and Application Assistants to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow. Natalia developed a system to manage the proper mailing of applications and implemented processes to provide comprehensive support to more than 200 clients per day. Additionally, she increased the number of completed applications on Saturdays despite working with half the regular staff, demonstrating her ability to optimize resources and maximize impact.
While now a proud New Yorker, Natalia remains deeply connected to her Venezuelan roots and actively advocates for the freedom of Venezuela from exile. She is also deeply passionate about exploring different cultures, trying new foods, and playing tennis.
